Amīr al-Dīn Māniyūl (pro: Manuwīl?): ms. Istanbul, Süleymaniye Kütüphanesi, Ayasofya 2442 (671-4H/1272-6; places of copying: Marāġa [Iran], 671H; Ḫarbart [= Ḫarbūt, nowadays Elazığ, East Turkey], 674H). In a copy note of the same ms., Amīr (in this case: Amīn) al-Dīn is described as commentator of Avicenna's Išārāt and of the Bayān al-Ḥaqq by Sirāǧ al-Dīn al-Urmawī (d. 682H/1283). Probably he was the son of Šimʿūn from Qalʿat al-Rūm (= Rumkale, nowadays Hromgla, South East Turkey), physician at the Īlḫānid court in Marāġa from 1260 to 1289 and member of an influential ecclesiastical family within the Syriac Orthodox Church, which had helped Bar Hebraeus gaining his position of chief bishop, and which was closely linked to the Mar Barṣawm monastery in Ḫarbūt.
